ZENITH ASP

This is the illustration for the cover of Zenith ASP. Zenith ASP were a three piece pop rock/progressive edge band that I used to play drums in. We were an acoustic power trio with Jayden McGrath (vocals/lead guitar) and Evan Berard (Bass). Our influences randged from John Butler Trio to Karnivool. Having relocating from Alice Springs to Melbourne we recorded our second album entitled ‘Fall From Insanity’ with Ricki Rae at Lighthill Sound Studio. My inspiration for this illustration was the leap I took moving to Melbourne from Alice Springs with the band, to record this album and enroll in graphic design. It’s so easy to get comfortable in life which is symbolised by the separate floating islands. Leaping off your island of comfort and security takes courage and faith. I believed in my art and I believed in my band. This artwork conveyed the title of the album that falling from the insanity of a mundane life was the best way to live. The graphics were done by renowned Melbourne studio Black Widow
